Step-by-Step Guide
-
Step 1
Select a flat 30 x 40 foot area. When choosing a site try to pick the flattest area possible without any obstructions, this will eliminate major problems later on.
-
Step 2
Mark 2 areas with yellow tape. One for power tools and another for power washers.
-
Step 3
Move picnic tables to the power washing area.
-
Step 4
Move all power tools to the power tool area.
-
Step 5
Remove any vegetation from the 30 x 40 foot area
-
Step 6
Use the till to flatten the ground.
-
Step 7
While tilling, the other volunteers can start digging a 4 inch deep trench around the border to place the 2 x 10 planks.
-
Step 8
Place the 2 x 10 in the trench.
-
Step 9
After the ground is flattened, place the landscape fabric over the ground in the 30 x 40 foot area.
-
Step 10
Fill in the 30 x 40 foot area with mulch
-
Step 11
Place all of the picnic tables and existing trash cans within the 30 x 40 foot area according to the written plan.
-
Step 12
Remove all of the yellow tape and debris from the site.
